"Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness." - Joseph Pilates
Infinity Pilates & Yoga offers a variety of private and semi-private training sessions, all of which we schedule by appointment only. The benefit of small group training is you will receive more specialized programing and individualized attention. If you are accustomed to attending large group classes where the instructor leads the class with generic cues, you will be pleased to find our instructors provide hands on alignment adjustments and client specific cues to help create the most efficient movement environment possible.
Developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1930's, the Pilates Method uniformly conditions the body by strengthening the "core" or "powerhouse" muscles of the abdomen, back, hips, and pelvic floor. The foundation for the Pilates Method lies in the understanding that the core supports all bodily movement. When this area is properly trained, the rest of the body finds balance and stability. Aside from increasing overall strength and flexibility, Pilates can be adapted for rehabilitation and injury prevention as well as intense conditioning for serious athletes. Whether you've spent years finely tuning your body through the art of exercise and healthy eating, or you're just starting out on your fitness journey, Pilates Mat is a great place to start.
During his lifetime, Joseph Pilates developed a full line of apparatus to assist his clients in performing a method he worked tirelessly to perfect. Of these pieces of equipment, the most versatile and well known are the Reformer, the Wunda Chair, and the Trapeze Table. Here at Infinity Pilates & Yoga, we proudly utilize Balanced Body Equipment for our apparatus sessions. The Pilates system of springs and pulleys provides a smooth, controlled form of resistance that works the body in all planes of motion. It also challenges muscle control through eccentric and concentric contractions. The spring resistance can also support the body in cases of injury or for clients who need special modifications.
Infinity Pilates & Yoga privates and semi-private Yoga sessions which were developed from the Hatha Yoga tradition. "Hatha", a word derived from ancient Sanskrit, describes the balance between the masculine and feminine energies. "Yoga" is derived from the Sanskrit word "yuji" meaning "union." Essentially, Hatha Yoga is the union of opposing energies through physical practice. At Infinity Pilates & Yoga, our yoga sessions are unique in that the flow changes for each class to continually challenge you physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Remember, there is no such thing as the perfect pose. Every practice is unique and that, in itself, is beautiful.
